E H Humphries designed and installed all electrical services to a new Siemens Artis Pheno Interventional Angiography Scanner, adjacent treatment areas, technical Rooms and Control areas
Systems installed included:
- New mechanical supplies to Packaged Air handling plant associated A/C and humidifiers
- Complete N+1 IPS /UPS system to HTM06-01 complete with Bypass units and medical location sockets.
- New Lighting system and emergency reporting system by Thorlux Smartscan
- Liaison and containment installation to nominated sub-contractors for Fire Alarm Nurse Call , Door Entry , Data services
- Earthing Systems to BS7671 2018 IET Wiring regulations section 710
- Testing and Inspection and handover documentation to BS7671-HTM06-01 and East Kent University NHS Trust requirements.
The project was particularly difficult as it was within a live area of the hospital , most of the works were within a secured site boundary however the installation of the 185mm 5 core new mains service feed meant that engineers were required to work in areas occupied by staff. This took considerable planning with the estates team and required on site meetings so all parties where aware of procurement. The installation was successful with minimal disruption to the patient activity and staff movement.
Following this project EHH have undertaken a further electrical service install to an EVT Unit at this hospital and hope to secure a further interventional suite later this year.
